We have two upcoming spring concerts to announce! The first is scheduled for Sunday, April 19th, 3:00 p.m. at South Highland Presbyterian Church in downtown Birmingham. A week later, on Sunday, April 26th, 3:00 p.m., we will be returning to the site of our recent Christmas concert: Christ Church United Methodist, 5091 Caldwell Mill Road (near Spain Park High School) in Hoover.
The program will be varied, including classics like Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata,” contemporary arrangements such as “Fiddle-Faddle” by Leroy Anderson, and popular favorites including “Singing in the Rain” (as danced by Gene Kelly) and “What a Wonderful World.” We will also have additional instruments including: saxophone, orchestral chimes, Petit & Fritsen bells, trumpet, piano, organ, and timpani.
There will be a new recording available for purchase in addition to our previous recordings. Our new recording is called “Let Freedom Ring” and features patriotic music.
Our concerts are free and an offering will be received upon exiting to sustain our mission. For more information, call director Phyllis Kirk, 205-960-1877.
